Alegría y Tristeza

My final day in Argentina was well spent. I got to spend the day in the company of some exceptional people, my wonderful Cordobese (not Cordoban as I mistakenly said yesterday...how gauche of me.) host, and my two new favorite Germans (sorry other Germans). We made a picnic in the Parque Sarmiento, dining on Choripan and Vino Tinto that we scooped at the Cavas de Don Arturo winery we visited in Mendoza the week before.

Choripan is what happens when you smash the words Chorizzo and Pan (bread) together...and then smother them with cabbage, pickled vegetables, and mayo. Just stop, Argentina, you're killing me.

And this, is what you look like after eating Choripan and drinking wine on a hot day.

After relaxing for the afternoon, we went out to the artsy neighborhood to visit the outdoor craft market. And here is where it happened- the piece of jewelry that's been looking for me all my life, finally found me!

And now, I'm coming home. I feel depressed. I want to say that I'm anxious to get back to the states full of motivation to write my thesis, but alas, that couldn't be farther from the case. I think this month has been so perfect, at the risk of sounding like a total cheeseball, I think this has given me a glimpse of my destiny. I think really good things are in store for me, and I'm so deeply thankful for that feeling. So I guess rather than feel like I need to strap on the yoke of thesis writing, I can relish this month I've had, and try and remember that the thesis is just another step towards my fabulous destiny.

I'm so appreciative for people who have been reading my blog while I've been traveling, I've had so much fun writing it, and it's so great to think that people might be enjoying it. So I ask you to stay tuned, and if you think my life is about to get extrememly boring when I get back, think again. The next blog saga for extreme outfit fridays will be unveiled shortly. I'll buy you a beer if you can guess what it is :)

Cheers!
