Runday Funday

Being a runner is hard work and serious business. Just kidding. It's super fun, and I love it. I'm 2.5 weeks into my training schedule for the Wildwood Half Marathon, and I'm loving it. This go-round, I opted for Hal Hidgdon's intermediate training plan.

As I'm sure you're aware, my last half-marathon was pretty abysmal, from the technical point of view. After barely finishing it, I sighed a great sigh of relief at the fact that never again, for the rest of my life, would I ever have to put on a pair of running shoes, ever again, because running's for suckers, and EVERYBODY KNOWS IT!

I'm over it. After flirting with the lazy lifestyle for a few weeks, and pledging a vow of obesity to my office-mates, it turns out I just love to run. On a beautiful day, after cranking out some hard math, there's really nothing better. Also, I know this winter was unseasonably warm, but dang, there's nothing like churning out a 6 mile tempo run on a dark, cold, lonely winter night, to make you appreciate sunshine.

So, suffice it to say, that I'm feeling really pro-running right now. Next stop: 3 mi. run + strength, and...running skort acquisition?

I think it's about time I donned a running skort, right? Sub 2-hour PR...I'm coming for you!!
