Warrior Dash!

What an incredible and amazing thing. Yesterday I set out with my merry band of church-ladies (except for the one in green...she doesn't look like she'd much fit in at a church) to conquer the Warrior Dash, and conquer we did!

Accompanying me were the beautiful Dan, James, and James.

And me? I guess I was Jane Fonda, Warrior of the 80's Home Work-Out videotape industry.

The race was much harder than I expected. It was a 5k run which included 12 obstacles, ranging from easy stuff (jumping through tires) to really hard stuff (climbing up a wall using just a knotted rope, and my feet to brace myself). Mostly it was just really hard because my cohort kept making me laugh, and as I tried to tell them- laughter is my kryptonite. Imagine, you're trying to climb across a rickety elevated cargo net, and you've got some crazy old mammis creeping up on you. Absolutely perfect.

And now, it's monday morning, and I'm sitting here drinking my last delicious cup of homebrewed coffee before heading into the wild. Johannes are I are being delivered to the Bear Mountain Bridge, from where we will begin our three day odyssey. So, to all you bears out there, be forewarned, I may look like a tasty morsel, but I'm a warrior, and I will take you down.
